Athlone Calvinist Church is regarded as the “Mother Church” of the Calvinist Protestant Church of South Africa. The church was formally established on the 15th October 1950 under the leadership of Reverend Isaac David Morkel. Today, the Calvinist Protestant Church of South Africa has thirty five congregations spread throughout the Western Cape, Southern and Eastern Cape, Northern Cape as well in our neighbouring state, Namibia. The Calvinist Protestant Church of South Africa is by value a reformed church and Presbyterian with regards to our church governance.
